Collection: Pan Fucose
Nucleocytoplasmic protein O-fucosylation (O-Fuc) is an unusual form of protein glycosylation in which a single fucose residue is attached directly to serine (FOS) or threonine (FOT) on proteins in the cytoplasm and nucleus. This single fucose moiety is not extended with other glycans. This modification is distinct from conventional secretory-pathway fucosylation and has been linked to important cellular processes in plants, protozoa, and human pathogens. Its study is limited by the lack of readily available reagents that broadly recognize FOS- and FOT-modified proteins. GlycoScientific has developed affinity-purified pan-FOS and pan-FOT polyclonal antibodies capable of detecting these poorly understood protein modifications.
